DESCRIPTION

The SecuTec OA relieves the lateral or medial compartment of the knee according to the 3-point principle without reducing the distance between the hinges of the orthosis. It combines optional varus or valgus adjustment in one product. Additionally, the orthosis provides stability for the knee joint according to the 4-point principle. The SecuTec OA’s relieving effect helps reduce pain and improve mobility with moderate to severe lateral or medial osteoarthritis of the knee. It supports various healing processes in post-operative care.

The knee orthosis relieves and provides stabilization thanks to its anatomically contoured hard-frame design featuring non-elastic Velcro straps. Adjustable hinges on opposite sides of the lower leg frame enable varus as well as valgus adjustment of up to 25 degrees in each direction. This means the applied pressure is distributed gently along the lower leg. In the varus setting, the SecuTec OA provides targeted relief for the lateral compartment of the knee, while the valgus setting relieves the medial compartment with the corresponding collateral ligaments. Together with the straps, the upper and lower leg frames also counteract anterior and posterior instability. The hinges can be adjusted without tools and limit flexion and extension, enabling immobilization in different angles.

The SecuTec OA is fastened to the leg using convenient quick fasteners. The soft straps with removable Velcro microfiber cushions, an adaptive calf shell with self-regulating inclination angle and anatomically contoured gel condylar pads ensure a secure and comfortable fit of the orthosis. Additionally, insertable wedges enable precise adjustment of the condylar pads to extend the contact surface at the side of the knee for optimum pressure distribution. The orthosis frames for the upper and the lower leg can be combined in different sizes depending on the patient’s leg circumference.
